The Voice Behind the Music
Tamanie (pronounced TA-muh-nee), originally from Hendersonville, Tennessee, spent her childhood backstage at the Grand Ole Opry—quite literally. Her mother, Carole Dove, a respected comptroller and manager for numerous Opry artists and megastars, kept her close while working alongside some of Nashville’s finest.
In 2007, Tamanie relocated to Atlanta, embracing not only a change of scenery but also the city’s diverse and dynamic music scene. Though she had long been surrounded by music, it wasn’t until recent years that she fully embraced her creative side, diving into songwriting and recording. Her son, Matt Mercer—a highly skilled sound engineer in Nashville—plays an integral role in her projects, composing, arranging, and mastering many of the tracks on her albums. Their collaboration brings a deeply personal and polished touch to her music.
Since 2012, Tamanie has emerged as one of Nashville’s most prolific songwriters, writing, recording, and releasing an impressive fifteen albums—with another on the way this year. Her passion is unmistakable, and listeners can feel the heart and soul she pours into every song, always adding her own unique touch to the music she creates.
“I can remember singing at a very early age, and I guess I’ll never stop. It’s been at the core of everything I do but I never really gave it much thought until I had some time to slow down and create it.”
